Vor einiger Zeit hat die Polizei in München einen Code per Facebook veröffentlicht, der bei der Wiederbeschaffung sehr nützlich sein kann.

Der „geheime“ Code

Der Code *#06# in die Telefon-App eingetippt, zeigt eine 15-stellige Zahl (Handy-Seriennummer) an, die du dir notieren sollst. Am besten ganz analog auf einem Blatt Papier oder direkt auf der Rechnung, die du dann abheften kannst.

Kommt dir das bekannt vor? Kein Wunder, denn bei dieser 15-stelligen Zahlenfolge handelt es sich um die IMEI-Nummer deines Smartphones. Da sie einmalig ist, hilft dies der Polizei, dir dein Eigentum wieder zurück zu geben, falls bei einer Beschlagnahmung dein Handy gefunden wurde.

Zugegeben, die Überschrift unseres Artikels ist ironisch gemeint, der Tipp mit der IMEI sollte aber auf jeden Fall ernst genommen werden.

Die IMEI-Nummer findest du übrigens auch auf dem Karton des Handys, der Rechnung und auf dem Gerät selber, unter der Abdeckung der Geräterückseite.

Noch´n Polizei-Tipp

Im Falle eines Diebstahls fragen viele Betroffene bei der Polizei, ob das Handy von den Beamten nicht geortet werden könne. Leider ist die Ortung eines Telefons aus rechtlichen Gründen nicht möglich.

Hierzu ist eine richterliche Anordnung erforderlich, die bei (Taschen-) Diebstählen normalerweise nicht erteilt wird.

Die Polizei empfiehlt die Aktivierung der Ortungsfunktion des Gerätes oder die Installation einer Ortungsapp. Für Android-Handys ist AndroidLost empfehlenswert und für iPhones empfehlen wir die Apps Mein iPhone suchen und Meine Freunde suchen. Nur so ist es für die Polizei möglich, dein Telefon im Falle eines Diebstahls zu orten.

Also, nach dem Kauf eines Smartphones direkt die IMEI auslesen und notieren. Damit erhöhst du die Chance, nach einem Diebstahl dein Telefon wiederzubekommen.

Wer bisher die Alexa-Sprachsteuerung auf dem Handy oder dem Tablet nutzen wollte, der musste vorher eine mit Alexa kompatible App, wie beispielsweise Reverb, verwenden. Damit ist nun Schluss.

Ist kein Amazon Echo in Hörweite, dann lassen sich alle Befehle der Sprachsteuerung auch mit der App realisieren. Nur automatisch zuhören kann die Alexa-App nicht. Dazu muss der Button gedrückt werden.

Wenn deine Alexa-App noch keine Sprachsteuerung hat, dann aktualisiere die App. Ist sie danach immer noch nicht vorhanden, wird es vermutlich noch ein paar Tage dauern, da dieses Update in mehreren Wellen ausgeliefert wird.

Vorerst wird leider nur Android unterstützt. Die Updates für iOS-Geräte folgen wohl (viel) später.

Mit dem neuen iOS 11 werden Bilder und Videos beim iPhone und dem iPad in einem neuen Standard, das den Speicherbedarf reduziert, aufgenommen. Diese beiden Formate sind bisher noch nicht in allen Media Playern und Bildbetrachtungsprogrammen integriert. Das ist aber kein Problem, da es (kostenlose) Tools zur Konvertierung gibt oder man die neuen Formate auf dem Gerät deaktivieren kann.

Die neuen Formate, HEIF (.heic) für Fotos und HEVC (.hevc) für Videos, benötigen bis zu 50 Prozent weniger Speicherplatz. HEIF und HEVC sind Abkürzungen. Sie stehen für High Efficiency Image File Format und High Efficiency Video Coding.

Konvertierungssoftware

Wer seine Bilder und Videos auf dem PC speichern und/oder ansehen möchte, sollte ein passendes Tool installieren. Leider fehlen noch bei vielen Bildbearbeitungsprogrammen und Video-Playern die erforderlichen Codecs. Auch die älteren Apple-Betriebssysteme sind mit den neuen Formaten nicht kompatibel.

Konvertierungsprogramme sind im Web kostenlos erhältlich. Wir empfehlen den Free HEIC Converter (für Fotos) und den H.265 Converter (für Videos). Beide Programme werden auf der Webseite von Aiseesoft als Freeware angeboten.

Und wer seine Dateien lieber online konvertieren möchte, der kann Bilder auf der Webseite HEIC to JPG und HEVC-Videos bei Convertio umwandeln.

HEIF und HEVC deaktivieren

Möchtest du vorerst ganz auf die neuen Formate verzichten, dann schalte HEIF/HEVC auf deinem iPhone/iPad einfach ab.

Tippe auf Einstellungen und dann auf den Eintrag Kamera. Im Bereich Formate aktivierst du anschließend die Einstellung Maximale Kompatibilität. Damit sind HEIF und HEVC deaktiviert und die Aufnahmen erfolgen wieder im altbewährten Format.

Allerdings musst du jeden offenen Tab separat anklicken. Eine automatische Speicherung kann im Meldefenster nicht ausgewählt werden. Eine Entsprechende Funktion ist zwar eingebaut, muss aber manuell aktiviert werden.

Die Warnmeldung beim Beenden des Firefox, Schließen bestätigen, enthält standardmäßig die zwei Schaltflächen Tabs schließen und Abbrechen. Bisher musste man, um die offenen Tabs zu speichern, auf Abbrechen klicken um zu dem Browser zurück zu kehren.

Durch den Eingriff über about:config wird dieser Warnmeldung ein weiterer Button, Speichern und beenden, hinzugefügt. Dieser erlaubt es, automatisch alle offenen Webseiten auf einen Schlag zu speichern.

Zur Aktivierung öffnest du einen neuen Browser-Tab, gibst in die Adresszeile about:config ein und bestätigst die nachfolgende Warnung mit dem Button Ich bin mir der Gefahren bewusst!

Gib in das Suchfeld den Begriff (oder einen Teil davon) browser.showQuitWarning ein. Den gleichnamigen Eintrag klickst du doppelt an, um den Wert von false in true zu ändern.

Ab sofort zeigt die Warnmeldung beim Beenden des Firefox den dritten Button mit der Option Speichern und beenden an. Die gesamte Sitzung wird dann beim nächsten Browser-Start wieder hergestellt.

Aber auch ohne Aktivierung des zusätzlichen Buttons kann die letzte Sitzung wieder hergestellt werden. Firefox speichert automatisch alle offenen Tabs, damit sie im Falle eines Browser-Absturzes wieder aufrufen zu können.

Klicke im Firefox oben rechts auf das Drei-Balken-Icon und wähle im Kontextmenü die Option Vorherige Sitzung wieder herstellen aus. Diese Variante erfüllt den gleichen Zweck wie der obige Button, ist aber etwas weniger komfortabel.

Bei Windows-10-Rechnern kommt es bisweilen zu einer erhöhten Tätigkeit des Prozessors. Hierfür ist oft der Prozess Runtime Broker verantwortlich. Eine erhöhte CPU-Last benötigt mehr Strom und belastet insbesondere die Akkus von Notebooks. Dieser Bug lässt sich schnell und einfach beseitigen.

Der Runtime Broker tritt im Zusammenhang mit der Funktion Bei der Nutzung von Windows Tipps, Tricks und Vorschläge erhalten auf und blendet in der Nähe der Taskleiste unregelmäßig Werbung ein. Kommt es hier zu einer Fehlfunktion, schaltet sich der Runtime Broker nicht ab und belastet den Prozessor.

Um die CPU-Last wieder zu normalisieren, überprüfst du mit dem Task-Manager ob der Runtime Broker in der Prozessübersicht trotz Leerlauf aktiv ist. Zur Beseitigung dieser Fehlfunktion ist die Beendigung des Prozesses nicht notwendig.

Öffne mit der Tastenkombination [Windows][I] nun die Einstellungen und klicke nacheinander auf System | Benachrichtigungen und Aktionen. Anschließend scrollst du im mittleren Anzeigebereich zu den Benachrichtigungen und deaktivierst das Feature Bei der Nutzung von Windows Tipps, Tricks und Vorschläge erhalten über den dazugehörigen Schalter. 

Abschließend startest du den Computer neu, damit Windows die Änderung speichern kann. Ab sofort sollte der Prozess Runtime Broker keine Probleme mehr machen.
