Medicaid paid drug-maker in Scott's portfolio hundreds of millions


Exactly how much Florida Medicaid has paid Gilead for its hepatitis C and HIV drugs is literally a state secret: Beyond a federally required 23 percent rebate, additional cost breaks are exempt from state and federal public records laws. Gov. Rick Scott and his wife Ann have drawn profits of at least $250,000 - and as much as $2.1 million - from a drug company whose sky-high prices are draining state Medicaid coffers.
