Trial Opens Over Lawyer's Death Allegedly Caused by J&J's Baby Powder

Bertila Boyd-Bostic was looking forward to starting a family once she and her husband, Antoine Bostic, both graduates of Mercer University School of Law in Georgia, had built their own law firm, Bostic & Boyd, in Columbia, South Carolina. But in 2016, she was diagnosed with mesothelioma and, on Oct. 29, died at age 30. Her husband is now part of a trial against Johnson & Johnson, claiming Boyd-Bostic's lifetime use of its baby powder caused her to get one of the deadliest forms of cancer.
