Pfizer, Flynn Pharma Fined Record $106 Million by U.K. Regulator


Pfizer Inc. and Flynn Pharma Ltd. received record fines for abusing their dominant position by charging unfair prices for phenytoin sodium, an anti-epilepsy drug. The Competition and Markets Authority fined Pfizer 84.2 million pounds  and Flynn Pharma 5.2 million pounds after they increased prices by as much as 2,600 percent overnight following a September 2012 rebrand, the regulator said in an e-mailed statement.
