AJHP’s December 1 Theme Issue Focuses on Precision Medicine


The December 1, 2016, Precision Medicine theme issue of AJHP (American Journal of Health-System Pharmacy) marks the first time that a pharmacy journal has dedicated an entire issue to the topic of precision medicine. This special issue of ASHP’s peer-reviewed, scholarly publication highlights the important role of pharmacogenomics in the ambulatory and inpatient settings. The Precision Medicine theme issue of AJHP highlights several cutting-edge pharmacogenomics programs that have been successfully implemented across the country. These articles may be used as blueprints for pharmacists, physicians, and other health professionals interested in developing pharmacogenomics care programs at their own organizations. “Pharmacists have emerged as leaders and early adopters of pharmacogenomics in clinical practice,” said AJHP Editor in Chief Daniel J.
