ASHP Launches Certificate Program in Sterile Compounding
ASHP recently released the latest offering from its Professional Certificate line, the Sterile Product Preparation Training and Certificate Program. The online continuing education program provides pharmacists and pharmacy technicians with the knowledge and essential skills necessary for safe and effective sterile product preparation. ASHP Professional Certificate Programs are self-guided, online continuing education programs for pharmacists and pharmacy technicians. Each program offers at least 15 hours of continuing education credit that can be earned upon completion of individual modules. Participants must complete all of the modules in a program as well as practice-based exercises to be eligible for an ASHP professional certificate. “ASHP is committed to developing and offering professional certificate programs to help our members and other stakeholders provide high quality patient care" said ASHP CEO Paul W. Abramowitz, Pharm.D., Sc.D. (Hon.), FASHP. “The Sterile Product Preparation Training and Certificate Program will help ensure that pharmacists and pharmacy technicians can validate that they are able to safely prepare sterile medications to treat our sickest and most vulnerable patients using the most current practices and scientific evidence"
